Great Texas Balloon Race This is a world-class event attracting the very best competitive pilots from across the United States and the world. Considered by many of the pilots that compete at the Great Texas Balloon Race to be the best run event on the circuit, the Great Texas Balloon Race earned Longview the official designation as "The Balloon Capital of Texas" by the Governor of Texas in 1985. Competitive balloon flights are scheduled for the mornings of Friday through Sunday over Longview. Non-competition flights are planned for the afternoons of Friday and Saturday over Longview. Launch and landing sites change each day as they are always determined by wind and the weather. |

B-29 "Doc" The B-29 Superfortress "Doc" is one of only two flight-worthy Boeing heavy bombers of World War II. Doc will return to the Lone Star State in July for the Rose City Airfest, Warbird Expo and Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Air Show July 1-4, in Tyler, TX. Both events at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport are hosted by Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation (CCVF). “The mission of the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation is inspiring and we are humbled to be a part of helping honor those men and women who have served our nation and who need the services that the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation and its mission supports,” Wells said. “We know this event will further promote the mission of the CCVF in the northeast Texas region and we are proud to be a partner.” |

Canton Texas Balloon Fest The Canton Texas Visitor Bureau hosts this two-day annual event each year. The festival has grown and now includes vendors of all kinds, great food, and art vendors showing off their pieces. Family fun activities are abundant bounce houses, car shows and the very popular 5K glow run on Friday night. Each year the festival highlights great East Texas Music with non-stop music all weekend. |

Texas In A Pickle Festival The festival will feature 75 unique crafters and food vendors carrying at least one pickle related item. Food trucks carrying a unique pickle item, for example: pickle pizza, pickle ice cream, pickle desserts, fried pickles, and pickle lemonade. The festival will also have a pickle eating and juice drinking competition for kids and adults, a pickle home canning contest for the public, pickle beer, free entertainment for kids, local live bands, a mechanical bull and more! The festival brings awareness to Hunter Syndrome, its nonprofit organization. |

12th Annual Tee Off for Toys Golf Tournament Hosted by the Tyler Professional Firefighters Association, this four-player scramble benefits The Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree program. Each player is asked to also bring an unwrapped toy ($10 and up value) with them on tournament day. Registration begins at 9 am, followed by a Putting Contest beginning at 9:30 and an 11:00 am shotgun start. Prizes will be given for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, closest to the pin, longest drive plus other course games. |

Zero Prostate Cancer 5K-Run/1-Mile Walk This family-friendly event is an important way to unite together to ZERO out prostate cancer. Our caring community will celebrate prostate cancer survivors and caregivers and honor those that have been lost to the disease. There will be fun kids activities, including a special Kids Superhero Dash for Dad, to get everyone involved. Register and create your fundraising page today. October 8, 2022 | CountryFest Each year on the 2nd Saturday in October thousands of folks travel from all over to gather at the city square in Mount Vernon and enjoy this large annual city-wide event. CountryFest began in 1974 and this year will mark the 44th annual CountryFest! Come early to enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club. Stay for a while and enjoy live entertainment by local musicians while you stroll through the myriad of vendor booths offering local, artisan, hand-crafted goods. October 8-9, 2022 | 50th Annual Edom Art Festival The Festival is produced by the Edom Craft Community, and for 50 years have celebrated exemplary art and craft in all mediums. Fine art and fine craft, 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional will be shown by the individual artists, as well as regional wineries, artisan foods, kids art area ,and demonstrations by several artists, and the local galleries of Edom, an artists’ hamlet in East Texas.
